Time windows, history and seasonal periods

CollectionsIQ Help · Rules & collections

Rolling windows. The default: a condition evaluates over the last N days (up to 730). "Last 30 days" is the workhorse for most rules.

How much history you have. Out of the box, CollectionsIQ syncs your recent window and keeps everything from there — the daily sync refreshes the last 14 days (ad platforms restate recent days), a full 90-day pass runs weekly, and history is retained for 24 months.

Backfill history. To reach further back than your install date, open Integrations and press Backfill history on a connected platform. CollectionsIQ pulls up to 24 months of per-product performance, month by month, newest first — you can watch progress on the same card, and it's safe to re-run anytime. Meta's API serves roughly 3 years of history; Google typically reaches the account's lifetime.

Seasonal periods. With history in place, the rule builder's window selector offers Named period instead of rolling days:

  • BFCM (Nov 20 – Dec 2), Holiday (Nov 1 – Dec 31), Summer (Jun 15 – Aug 15), or custom dates (any MM-DD range, including ranges that wrap the year end).
  • Years back applies the period across multiple yearly occurrences — "BFCM, last 2 years" evaluates over both seasons combined.

This unlocks preparation rules: build a "BFCM performers" collection in October from products that actually delivered in the last two BFCM seasons, and have your merchandising ready before the traffic arrives.

Notes. Seasonal periods work on ad metrics (Shopify order history is capped at 60 days, so a sales metric can't reach last year's BFCM). The builder shows how far back your data reaches — if a period asks for more years than you've backfilled, backfill first.
