Unmatched products and manual matching

CollectionsIQ Help · Data & account

To attribute ad performance to a Shopify product, CollectionsIQ must recognize the product ID your ads report. It resolves automatically through several strategies — the common Shopify feed ID convention, your Meta catalog's product URLs, variant IDs, SKUs, barcodes, handles, and exact titles. Most catalogs match fully on the first fetch.

When something doesn't match, it appears in the Unmatched ad products section on Integrations, ordered by spend — so the rows that matter economically are on top. Unmatched spend is never silently dropped into other products; it's simply excluded until you map it.

To match manually: click the unmatched row and enter any identifier of the Shopify product it belongs to — product ID, variant ID, SKU, barcode, handle, or exact title (a pasted admin URL/GID works too). The mapping is saved permanently: every future sync applies it automatically, and the row disappears from the unmatched list.

Common causes of unmatched IDs:

  • A custom feed tool that rewrites product IDs into its own format.
  • Products deleted from Shopify but still referenced by old ad data.
  • A Meta catalog whose retailer IDs don't follow the Shopify convention — set your Catalog ID on the Meta card so CollectionsIQ can bridge via product URLs, which usually clears the whole list at once.

If a large share of your spend shows as unmatched after setting the catalog ID, contact support via the chat widget — feed conventions vary, and we can usually add resolution for yours.
