Building rules and collections

CollectionsIQ Help · Rules & collections

A rule is a set of conditions over your product performance; the products that match become a Shopify collection that CollectionsIQ keeps current every day.

Start from a template or from scratch. The Rules screen offers built-ins ("Bestsellers", "High ROAS", and others) you can enable as-is, or press Create custom rule for the full builder.

Anatomy of a condition:

  • Metric — ad metrics (spend, CPM, CTR, CPC, ROAS…), Shopify sales metrics (units sold, net sales, orders, AOV), combined metrics (true ROAS, cost per unit), or any custom metric you've defined.
  • Operator & value — thresholds ("is at least 3"), ranges ("between"), or rankings ("top 20 by ROAS", "top 10%").
  • Window — a rolling window in days, or a named seasonal period like BFCM (see Time windows, history and seasonal periods).
  • Platforms — blended across Google + Meta, a single platform, or "each platform must pass".
  • Markets — narrow ad data to specific feed labels or countries (see Markets: feed labels and countries).
  • Collection scope — restrict the rule to products already in a given collection.

Combine conditions with ALL (AND) / ANY (OR), including nested groups — e.g. "high ROAS AND (bestseller OR low CPM)".

Preview before you commit. Preview lists exactly which products currently match. Nothing touches your store until you enable the rule.

Stability, not churn. Collections shouldn't flap because a product hovered around a threshold overnight. CollectionsIQ applies hysteresis — a product needs to clearly cross the boundary before it's added or removed — so your merchandising stays calm while still tracking real change.

Shopify sales windows are capped at 60 days — that's the order history Shopify makes available to the app. Ad metrics can reach much further back once you've backfilled history.
