PixelIQ Privacy Policy

PixelIQ collects no data. It is a free Chrome DevTools extension that helps you debug the Shopify web pixels on a page. It makes no network requests of its own, has no servers, no accounts, and no analytics. Everything it shows you stays inside your browser’s local DevTools session and is never sent to EcomIQ or anyone else.

PixelIQ is provided by EcomIQ (PBF Piotr Białozor-Fiećko, ul. Józefa Chełmońskiego 12, 14-200 Iława, Poland; NIP PL8461552859). This policy supplements the main EcomIQ Privacy Policy.

1. What PixelIQ does

When you open Chrome DevTools and select the PixelIQ panel on a web page, PixelIQ observes the network requests and analytics events that the page’s Shopify web pixels generate, and displays them — labeled by pixel and decoded into readable fields — so you can verify your tracking. That is its single purpose.

2. Data we collect: none

EcomIQ does not collect, receive, store, sell, or transfer any data through PixelIQ. We have no visibility into what you inspect. PixelIQ does not transmit anything off your device.

3. What PixelIQ accesses locally (and only locally)

• Network requests & page events in the tab you are inspecting, only while the DevTools panel is open, to display and decode them. They are held in memory in your local DevTools session and are discarded when you close DevTools or clear the panel.
• Page/frame event streams — PixelIQ reads dataLayer pushes and the Shopify Customer Events bus within the page’s frames (including pixel sandbox iframes) for the same display-and-decode purpose. It does not modify the page.
• Export — if you choose to export, PixelIQ writes a JSON or HAR file to the location you pick. Nothing is uploaded.
• Settings — your panel filters and toggles live in the open panel for the session and reset when you close DevTools. Nothing is persisted off-device.

4. Permissions and why they’re needed

• scripting — injects a small, read-only observer into page frames (including a custom pixel’s sandboxed iframe) to relay dataLayer/Customer Events into the panel. It does not change page content or behavior.
• Optional host access (<all_urls>) — not requested at install. It is requested at runtime, via Chrome’s permission prompt, only when you turn on the optional “Events” capture — because Shopify storefronts and their pixels run on arbitrary merchant-owned domains and on the checkout domain, so the debugger must be able to read pixel activity on whatever site you open DevTools on. Core capture (network requests, pixel names, decoding) needs no host access. No data leaves the browser.
• webNavigation — to enumerate page frames and attribute captured traffic to the correct pixel.

5. No remote code

All of PixelIQ’s logic ships inside the published extension package. It does not download, fetch, or execute any code from a remote source.

6. Children

PixelIQ is a developer tool and is not directed to children.

7. Changes

We may update this policy; we will revise the “last updated” date above. Material changes will be reflected here before they take effect.
